Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support

PHTLS Advanced
Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support – Advanced Course
Basic PHTLS techniques must be mastered in order to be able to follow a PHTLS Advanced training course.
The participant must have a valid PHTLS certificate.
Primary and secondary survey review
- Cervical support
- ABCDE, full and local secondary survey
- Determining if the patient is “critical” or “non-critical” condition
Airway and ventilation management
- Endotracheal intubation, surgical and needle cricothyrotomy
Head and cervical trauma
- Intravenous technique and fluid resuscitation
- Shock management
Chest trauma
- Chest injuries assessment and treatment
- Thoracotomy
Thermal trauma
- Burns management + Intravenous therapy
